The second quarter started in a similar vein with Darren Birch once again opening the scoring for Bolton Bulls extending the score to 8-5. Bolton Bulls decided to change things up a bit and called 2 substitutions, with Dan Craddock and Dave Hughes coming on for Graeme Lambert and Dale Speight respectively. Baskets continued to be exchanged for the remainder of the half with Andy Golightly, Darren Birch and Tom Eckersley scoring for Bolton Bulls. Bolton Bulls took a slender lead into half time, 14-13.
The 3rd quarter started with a basket from Spiders but a fast break by Dan Craddock gave the Bulls the lead once again, bringing the score to 16-15. The remainder of the 3rd quarter was largely in favour of Bolton Bulls with three baskets from Tom Eckersley, two from Dale Speight and a further basket from Dan Craddock giving Bolton Bulls a 25-19 advantage at the end of this period.
Bolton Bulls continued with their successful full court press in the early stages of the 4th quarter. Two baskets from Graeme Lambert and a basket from Andy Golightly helped Bolton Bulls establish a 10 point lead, taking the score to 31-21. The Leeds Spiders made a final valiant attempt to rally in the closing minutes of the final quarter but some solid defending from the home side allowed them to ease home with a win.
