The second game of the 2015/2016 season for Bolton Bulls Wheelchair Basketball Club and the first home game was against Lothian Phoenix's second team. The starting five for Bolton Bulls was:
8 Michael Galligan
10 Tom Bartley
15 Tom Eckersley (Coach/Captain)
33 Dale Speight
35 Graeme Lambert
Bolton Bulls didn't get off to the best of starts with Lothian Phoenix scoring the first two baskets of the game. Tom Eckersley set the score board turning for Bolton. Sadly, it wouldn't be enough to begin a change of luck and Lothian continued to out score Bolton Bulls two baskets to one and the first quarter ended 8-16 in favour of Lothian Phoenix.
Bolton Bulls would only score twice in the second quarter, with baskets from Graeme Lambert and Tom Eckersley. Lothian Phoenix 2 started to hammer home their advantage adding 17 points to their total.
Half-time score: Bolton Bulls: 12, Lothian Phoenix 2: 33
Bolton Bulls had a difficult start to the third quarter as Lothian Phoenix put down seven unanswered baskets. Bulls would finally get scoring again with baskets from Tom Eckersley, Graeme Lambert and John Edwards. The damage was done unfortunately; Lothian Phoenix scored a total of 19 points in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter would continue the same way with only Tom Eckersley and John Edwards scoring for Bolton Bulls in the final quarter.
Final score: Bolton Bulls: 24, Lothian Phoenix 2: 68
A disappointing game for Bolton Bulls, and will be looking to improve before their next game, at home on 8th November against Liverpool Greenbank.
